Northern Capital Gateway | Airport Pulkovo Saint Petersburg

Airport Pulkovo Saint Petersburg is the third busiest airport in Russia after Moscow’s Domodedovo and Sheremetyevo airports.
Airport code of LED derives from the city’s previous name under USSR — Leningrad.
There are almost 4000 people employed at the airport.
Since 2009 the airport is managed by NCG (Northern Capital Gateway) under the private-public partnership agreement among three parties — the City of St. Petersburg, Pulkovo Airport Company (100% owned by the City) and NCG. This private-public partnership is the first one in the Russian airport industry.
The companies participating in «Northern Capital Gateway» are Russian VTB Capital, member of state-owned VTB Group, German Fraport AG, which manages and operates the airport of Frankfurt and many other international airports, and Horizon Air Investments S.A. member of the Greek Copelouzos Group.
