At the 10th annual ceremony of the Russian Business Travel & MICE Awards (RBT&MA) 2019, held in Moscow, Convention Bureau of the Saint-Petersburg Committee for Tourism Development was announced as the winner of «The best Russian regional tourism office or convention bureau in promoting MICE».
The winners of the Russian Business Travel & MICE Award have been chosen over two stages: via electronic voting and voting by council of 100 market experts, leading Russian and international companies – large customers of business travel services and MICE. Saint Petersburg Convention Bureau won the title by large margin.
«It is a great honor for us to win this prestigious award the same year as the 5th anniversary of the founding of the Convention Bureau. This, once again, underlines the high degree of significance of our work», said Andrey Matsarin, General Director of the Bureau.
Since 2014, Saint Petersburg Convention Bureau has been promoting St. Petersburg as one of the leading platforms for business communication through bringing professional events to the city. The Bureau’s list of tasks includes: attracting international business events to the city, presenting the tourism potential of St. Petersburg at international specialized exhibitions in Russia and abroad, as well as conducting its own business events on important issues of the tourism industry and MICE.
The annual professional award in the field of business tourism and MICE – Russian Business Travel & MICE Award – has been established in 2010 to promote and develop business tourism and congress services in Russia. The project encompasses all participants of business tourism market – within its frames the best entities will be chosen in 16 major categories, among them: congress hotels (Moscow, St. Petersburg, regions of this country), congress center, an organizer of conferences and incentive itineraries in Russia and abroad, Russian TMC-company and an agency servicing corporate customers, an airline for business travelers, national tourist office, online booking systems.
