On 1st of October, about 3.5 thousand applications were submitted for electronic visas to St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.
Estonia became the leader in the number of applications, as about 1/3 of the documents were submitted by citizens of this country. The next largest number of applications are residents of Latvia and Germany. Citizens from Philippines, India and China are also among the applicants.
From October 1, citizens of 53 countries can enter the Northern capital according to a simplified procedure. An electronic visa is free and issued for 30 days with the possibility of staying in the region for 8 days.
Entry and exit by electronic visa is possible through Pulkovo, the Vysotsk sea checkpoints, the Big Port of St. Petersburg (Marine Station), the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg, as well as through Customs post «Torfyanovka», «Brusnichnoe», «Svetogorsk» and through the pedestrian checkpoint «Ivangorod».
