Another unique congress event begins today in St. Petersburg – the 43rd Annual Cineposium of the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI). It is being held for the first time in Russia.
Participants and organizers of the event started the first day in St. Petersburg with a press conference. This year, critical topics to be presented at Cineposium include the rise of content and its impact on a territory’s capacity, global film tourism and screen industry development. In addition to showcasing St. Petersburg as a destination for film, television and other forms of production, Cineposium will help to establish co-production links between domestic and foreign filmmakers.
Cineposium will become a unique platform, uniting the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), representatives from the world film industry and representatives from the international and federal media. The forum’s speakers will be producers of such movies as “Mad Max: Fury road”, “Planet of the Apes”, “Angels and Demons”, “Star Wars” and other authoritative representatives of the film industry from different countries. From Russia, the forum is attended by producers Sergey Selyanov, Ilya Stewart, director Klim Shipenko, Alexey German, actor Yuri Kolokolnikov and others.
The participants of the Cineposium will be greeted by the Secretary General of the UN World Tourism Organization Zurab Pololikashvili and the head of the Federal Tourism Agency Zarina Doguzova.
The forum takes place in St. Petersburg from September 13 to 16, 2019 at the site of the Corinthia Hotel St. Petersburg.
